Access to Music Awards Ceremony '09
Written by Jono    Monday, 23 November 2009 13:48    PDF Print E-mail

Now in its seventh year, the Access to Music Awards Ceremony has become an aspirational
and inspirational feature in our Atom Live events calendar.

The event gives Access to Music students and Armstrong Learning clients the opportunity to
celebrate their success in a professional awards environment which echoes the prestigious
awards ceremonies of the music industry from the MOBOs to the Mercury Music Awards.
This means a fantastic London theatre setting right by the Thames with a celebrity host in
the form of musician and TV presenter, Lauren Laverne. It also means guest appearances from
Access to Music patron and world music pioneer, Nitin Sawhney, and from renowned jazz
saxophonist and freestyle rapper, Soweto Kinch. It also means some great live music from
student and client acts.

The event enjoys the support of our qualifications partner, Rockschool, and software
manufacturer Sibelius. We thank them for their generosity. It also has the support of our
valued partner colleges from across the country and, for the first time, it has participation
from outstanding clients on Armstrong Learning’s national New Deal for Musicians
programme. We extend a very warm welcome to all.
Lastly, but not least, we would like to applaud all the students, apprentices and clients who are
receiving prizes and/or performing tonight and we wish all of you the very best in the next
stages of your music careers.
