“All I Need To Get By”
1pm – 2pm. (London (1:30pm), Birmingham, Norwich & Manchester)
What support does a young band need to get themselves moving?Alright, it’s true - you need to have talent, tunes and a hell of work ethic to make your way in music. But if you think that’s enough, you’ve got another thing coming. Even the hardest working musicians need a helping hand, an A-Team behind them to guide, assist and help navigate them though the wilds. So picking your support network is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever have to make - so make sure you get it right first time. Joining Liverpool Sound City and ATOM are a dream team made flesh - to show you who you need, what you need, where to look for it! The Perfect Pitch
2:15pm - 3:30pm (London (2:45pm), Birmingham, Norwich & Manchester)
Students get the chance to pitch their music entrepreneurial ideas to a panel of international music industry experts!
Have you got an idea for a music business? Perhaps it's designing and selling a new type of instrument? It could be setting up a new club night or venue? It might be a new record label or perhaps you are managing a new up and coming artist? Or you might be that up and coming artist? Maybe you want to be a music journalist, or perhaps you want to set up a digital business or be an A&R scout? Perhaps you are a producer or you want to write film music?
Whatever, Access to Music is inviting hopeful young entrepreneurs into their Dragon's Den-style Music Biz Bid Shop where they will aim to present a Perfect Pitch for their music business to four music dragons. For chosen bids there will be opportunities to win prizes including a Blackberry Curve, £300 worth of music equipment from GAK, Full Delegate Pass and Travel Expenses* to Liverpool Sound City.
From the many students who entered The Perfect Pitch, three have been chosen to pitch their music entrepreneurial idea at the Final at Liverpool Sound City on Friday 20th May, 2-3pm in Breakout Room 3 ( see Liverpool Sound City website for more details).
